Becoming a Leader in the Proppants Industry

Atlas Resin Proppants (ARP) was founded in 2005, as a Limited Partnership. The goal of this partnership was to launch a new company to compete in the unique business of resin coating sand for the oil stimulation business. Construction of the production facility which included Tower A of Plant #1 located in Taylor, Wisconsin, soon followed and was completed in November 2005. At that time there were twelve (12) associates at the plant. The facility began production in December 2005, running one shift and slowly increasing to three shifts by January 2007.

In October 2007, Badger Mining Corporation acquired 100% ownership of ARP. In April of 2008 we began construction of an expansion project which included Tower B, additional warehouse space, and a new maintenance shop. This expansion was completed in October 2008 and doubled ARP's production capacity.

In April 2009, ARP acquired additional property at the Taylor site and began construction of a separate office facility which was completed in October 2009. At that time, the Tulsa, Oklahoma office was closed and all financial, customer service, and supply chain management operations were relocated to Taylor, Wisconsin.

In the fall of 2009, ARP made the decision to expand production capabilities and purchased land in the Village of Merrillan, Wisconsin. Ground was broken in April of 2010 to construct a plant of similar size to Taylor. This plant was scheduled to and began supplying the market in October 2010.
